The BIG one is back for LS-performance enthusiasts! Get ready for the 3rd Annual GM Performance Parts LSX Shootout that will take place at the NMCA World Finals in Memphis, TN, Oct. 15-18, 2009. This specialty event, presented by GM High-Tech Performance magazine, will bring the best in late-model LS performance to one place for a weekend of action-packed fun. You know these LSX racers will be putting ‘em on bumpers for over $50,000 in purse and prizes!

- True Street Challenge – The name says it…this class is for “true” street cars. Take your licensed, insured vehicle on a 30-mile, police-escorted cruise and then make 3 back-to-back passes down the track. The closest average to 9,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 seconds all win money and an award! All Showdown and Truck & SUV class racers can have a free entry into True Street on Saturday of the event. $500 to Win + Bonus Prize from GM Performance Parts!

Huge LS-Powered Auto Show at the 3rd Annual LSX Shootout
The NMCA is pleased to announce that there will once again be special LSX car show classes at the GM Performance Parts LSX Shootout that will take place at the NMCA World Finals in Memphis, TN, Oct. 15-18, 2009. The NMCA World Finals, the final stop of the NMCA Edelbrock Muscle Car Nationals, will once again be “the” LS performance event of the year. The LSX car show will be take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17th and 18th.
“These car show classes have been created to showcase and recognize the best LS-powered vehicles at the LSX Shootout,” said Charlie Harmon, President of the NMCA series. “The LSX Shootout car show is as important as the drag race – we will have something for everyone who wants to bring their LS-powered car to participate in this historic event.”
The LSX Shootout car show will be a part of the already huge NMCA Auto Show & Shine. All LSX car show entries will receive a participant goodie bag and a collectible all-metal LSX Shootout license plate, and will be able to park together to showcase their awesome LS-powered vehicles. LSX show cars will compete for the following awards:

GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Announced
GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Announced GM High-Tech Performance magazine has just announced a special heads-up Shootout for Chevy's newest hot rod. The GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout will take the top-8 competitors from Saturday's LSX True Street Challenge and race them heads-up in a Sunday bonus race where the winner will receive an LSX block, courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey, and color feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine! GM High-Tech Performance 2010 Camaro Shootout Class Rules: Each contestant will be required to register and compete in the Tremec True Street class (vehicles must meet True Street rules) on Saturday and complete all three runs, only the fastest eight 2010s will be selected. The eight competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 Pro Tree. Each Camaro must have an LS or LLT (V-6)-based motor, OEM-style transmission, electronic fuel injection and be stock-appearing. Racing seats are permitted, and each car must comply with applicable NHRA and NMCA safety rules. The winner will receive an LSX block courtesy of Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center as well as an LSX Shootout jacket, plaque, and a feature in GM High-Tech Performance magazine. The runner-up will be awarded a jacket and a plaque; all contestants will receive LSX Shootout T-shirts and subscriptions to GMHTP.
